The Economist magazine describes the Chinese household registration system as the Chinese version of the apartheid system in South Africa. There are more than 60 kinds of social welfare in the difference between urban and rural household registration. This means that the Chinese Communist Party concentrates all resources and welfare in the city, and the peasants have no welfare in China, no dignity, Chinese farmers are discriminated against by citizens in Chinese cities. In the eyes of the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese urbanites, Chinese farmers are slaves for free.
